The Big Dig - 19th March
TWIG is calling for extra help to plant 33 big trees! Come along on 19th March to see what is going on. We need your support planting a mixture of field maple and cherry. The project has been funded by local Frimley-based company SC Johnson. Meet at the main entrance off Garbetts Way at 10.30am or find us in the wood.

One down, one to go
Alan Eggleton and Carl Chadbond in action hammering tree stakesTWIG completed one of their two big planting projects last Sunday 26th February. Eight volunteers (3 new) turned up to plant a row of 15 large cherry trees to form Cherry Tree Walk at the Moors entrance into the wood. Come along in springtime to see the 3 varieties of cherry flowering. Thanks go to the volunteers and the sponsors of Johnsons Wax and Action Earth who funded the project.

TWIG win sponsorship
Two new projects have been awarded sponsorship. The planting of 15 new cherry trees to form Cherry Tree Walk at the Moors entrance has secured £50 from Action on Earth and a generous £1,340 from Johnson's Wax for that project and the planting of 33 cherry and maple trees around the Play Area.

Tongham Wood complete orchard restoration
Volunteers planting a fruit tree in the orchardFollowing the successful grant application to Hanson Environment Fund and match funding by Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, TWIG planted 50 fruit tree varieties of apple, pear, plum and cherry in January 2005.

Local residents have sponsored some of the trees and one tree has been dedicated to Richard Taylor, a former labourer of Tongham Fruit Farm that the orchard once formed part of.
