Fungi foraging
Fungi in the old woodThe damp autumn/winter months bring new life to the wood with all types of fungi appearing. Look out for them and see if you can spot any of those featured in our photo gallery or let us know if you have seen any new ones. We are happy to show them on our website.

Lovebird spotted in Tongham Wood
Red Faced Lovebird in the orchardA walker in the wood on Sunday 11th June spotted a Red Faced Lovebird up a tree in the orchard area. This is most unusual, it is likely to have escaped from a home. If anyone has anyone further information please contact us at TWIG.

Spring has arrived
The wood is now bursting into colour with blossom in the old wood and colourful butterflies and bumble bees appearing. Check out the ponds to see the newly hatched tadpoles - impossible to count them all. Submit your sightings on-line at the web link below.

The local community dig deep
TWIG had their most successful task to date with 34 volunteers turning up to plant 34 field maple and cherry trees on Sunday 19th March.
